Things to Do

Palo Alto

There are lots of fun things to do in Palo Alto. Unless otherwise noted, everything is within a 1-mile walk of the hotel. Here are a few of our favorites:

[Outside]   [Shopping]   [Other Fun Stuff]

Shopping

Stanford Shopping Center

Regardless of what kind of shopping you like, the Stanford Shopping Center is worth a visit. This open-air mall is located a block from the Sheraton. It has lots of great upscale stores and is accented by beautiful gardens. Try a sweet at the bakery in the center of the mall, or grab a bite at Max's Opera Café where the wait staff sings after taking your order. Sigona's Farmers Market offers fresh produce if you're tired of restaurant food.

Window Shopping Downtown

You can easily spend 2 hours trolling downtown and significantly more time if you actually go in the stores. Some of my favorite stores are:

Domus (fun things for the house):
University between Ramona and Hamilton

Borders Books (in a converted 1930s movie theater):
University between Waverly and Cowper

Apple (computer toys!):
A very cool retail Apple store
University between Kipling and Cowper

Pacific Art League (local artists all the time):
Ramona between Hamilton and Forrest

Diddams (random party stuff, tons of fun to wander around in):
Hamilton between Ramona and Emerson

Movie Memories (random movie related junk):
Waverly between University and Hamilton

The Bead Shop (make your own jewelry):
Emerson at University
